Cotton Tote Bags — Handmade Cotton Tote Bag Range
The everyday workhorse of the CYC range. Each cotton tote bag is handmade in Rajasthan from durable cotton, quilted with sturdy lining, finished with comfortable shoulder straps, and big enough to fit your life — a true quilted cotton tote bag built to last.
Yoga mat? Easy. 17" laptop? No problem. Weekly groceries, a stack of books, a beach day's worth of essentials? All in.
Shop our hero pieces: The Tibetan Tiger Tote (our signature cotton tote bag), The Jungle Tote, The Brown Leopard Tote, and The Stripe Tote.
What fits inside
Every CYC cotton tote is 18 × 18 inches with a 25-inch strap drop. That gives you:
- A 17-inch laptop (with room for a notebook and charger)
- A standard rolled yoga mat (strap drops comfortably over the shoulder)
- Weekly groceries (the kind of shop you actually do)
- Beach day essentials (towel, book, sunscreen, water bottle)
- A toddler's day kit (snacks, change of clothes, the lot)
The quilted construction holds shape without bulk — the bag stands up on its own when set down, but folds flat for storage.
How to style a CYC tote
The cotton tote is your everyday hero. A few pairing notes:
-
Loud print, quiet outfit. A bold tiger or jungle tote demands cream linen, denim, or all-black around it.
-
Quiet print, loud outfit. The Stripe Tote or Brown Leopard works with patterned dresses, colourful coats, and louder accessories.
-
Tonal layering. Match the dominant colour of the print to your outfit's main accent — the Pink Tibetan Tiger with cream and rose, the Orange Stripe with terracotta.
-
Beach to bistro. The same tote that carries a beach day's worth of essentials in the morning works at the trattoria for lunch.

Care — keeping yours for years
Machine wash cool, line dry, iron on low if needed. The cotton softens with each wash. Don't tumble dry on high — it'll shrink the cotton. Colour will age slowly with use; that's part of the contract — your bag at year five will look better than your bag at year one.
What to expect from a handmade tote
Every CYC cotton tote is finished by hand. You'll see small variations between pieces — a slightly thicker line, a touch of bleed on one print, a colour that sank deeper into one weave than another. These are not flaws; they're the signature of real handcraft. Mass-produced tote bags from big brands look identical; ours don't. Frequently Asked Questions
What size are the cotton totes?
Every CYC cotton tote is 18 × 18 inches with a 25-inch strap drop. Fits a 17-inch laptop, a standard rolled yoga mat, or weekly groceries with room to spare.
Will a 17-inch laptop fit?
Yes — comfortably, with room for a notebook, charger, and your daily essentials.
Are they machine washable?
Yes — every cotton tote is machine washable on cool. Line dry to preserve the print. Don't tumble dry on high heat.
What's the difference between cotton and velvet totes?
Cotton is lighter, more durable, breathable, and machine-washable. Velvet has a plush hand-feel, deeper pigment, and is designed for slower or occasion use. Cotton totes live in your daily rotation; velvet ones come out for evenings and slower days.
How many colourways are available?
It depends on the print — the Striped Cotton Tote has 9 colourways, the Tibetan Tiger Tote 12, the Jungle Tote 17. Each colourway is handmade in small batches, so availability changes seasonally.
Why is each bag slightly different?
Every piece is finished by hand. Small variations in line, dye depth, or print placement are the signature of real handcraft. No two CYC totes are identical.
Where are they made?
Handmade by skilled artisans in small workshops in Rajasthan, India. Fair wage, ethical production. 10% of every purchase funds artisan welfare and education in the same communities.
Which print should I start with?
For most customers, the Tibetan Tiger Tote (our most-loved, the original) or the Stripe Tote (the quiet workhorse). For something bolder, the Jungle Tote. For wardrobe versatility, the Brown Leopard.
