Cotton velvet is natural cotton woven with a short plush pile. Softer than synthetic velvet, deeply pigmented, and ages beautifully with use.
No — velvet is spot-clean only. Use a damp cloth and blot rather than rub; for a deeper clean, a very gentle cold hand wash, never wrung, laid flat to dry. A machine cycle flattens the pile.
